I had a customer request about controlling Auria's transport with MIDI commands (in this case program changes) that I thought I would share.
It seems that Auria will quite happily react to start/stop/continue and song position pointer messages to control the transport.
The customer wanted to use an fx pedal connected via a Scarlett interface that issued program change messages, so the following recipe did the trick:
1. In MidiBridge connect the Scarlett (left) to MidiBridge (right) so
there is a green line between the two.
2. Touch the 'beaker' icon on Scarlett (left) and press Stream Byter
accessory button. Press 'On' and then paste the following into the text
box:
# Auria Transport
CX 00 = F2 00 00 +C
CX 00 = FA +C
CX 01 = FB +C
CX 02 = FC +C
CX 00-02 = XX +B
Press 'Install Rules' and then Done & Done.
3. Switch to Auria. Under Settings choose 'Receive Clock' for 'MidiBridge'
under MIDI inputs.
The above had the effect of:
program change 0 = return to zero and start play
program change 1 = continue play
program change 2 = stop
If you want to control Auria's transport with other program change (or indeed any other MIDI messages) then the rules above would need a little adjustment.
