Hi Nic!
I had this idea for a new way to quickly access and combine sounds but I can't figure out how to do it. I'm wondering if the stream byter might be the solution.
Typically I'm using either a Korg Taktile or a Fishman Triple Play as my midi note generator ext controller. They are both usually set up to send midi on a single midi channel (but obviously this could be changed if needed.) What I'd like to do is have a bunch of Instrument sounds/apps all set to different midi channels and be able to quickly change between them and/or combine them.
So ideally I'm envisioning up to a 16 button switchboard interface (one representing each midi channel), with each button corresponding to a different instrument/app, where you can push a hardware CC button on the Taktile or my floor controller and be able to toggle on/off whether the midi info is sent to the corresponding channel, allowing you to mix and match any of the sounds in any combination, all triggered from from a single midi note generator controller. Run-on sentence FTW!
Can the stream byter do something like this? Previously I have used presets (oops scenes) in midibridge to reroute incoming midi channels to other channels to access different sounds, but there was no way to combine them, unless there was a preset pre-configured with the combination (which would end up being too many presets to manage). Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi steve842, Yeah, I don't think we can do this with MidiBridge as it is, due to the exact reason you describe - needs to be done using scenes and you would not want to try and deal with 16x16 combinations! Regards, Nic.

Regards, Nic. Ok thanks. Yeah, it just seemed too complicated but I figured I'd give it a shot. I got hooked on stacking instruments with sampletank but then wanted to do it with ThumbJam but couldn't figure out how, and then took the idea to the extreme. Seems like there would need to be some if/then conditional midi programming ability for this to work. Thanks again for your time!
