Hi there, Using my MIDI controller, I can get MidiFire Remote Control to receive a note-on to bypass a channel strip. However, I can't un-bypass the channel strip by sending the same note-on. Is that by design? Any workarounds? Thanks!

Hi lukesleepwalker , When you assign a note event to a bypass switch, then the note on event will activate the module and a note off will deactivate. So what is happening is that each time you press and release a note, the module will briefly activate and then bypass. The idea of using a note as a remote is so you can enable a module while you hold it down rather than toggle. You have two choices: 1. Use a CC/PC event instead, depending upon the features of the external controller. 2. Add a Stream Byter module that converts the note event to a toggle: - Manually configure the Remote Control assignment of the module to something your controller doesn't send and does not conflict with the scenes changing channel. For this example, I am going to use program change 0 on channel 16, since a program change toggles automatically. - Drop a Stream Byter onto the canvas and connect your external controller to it. Paste in the following code. For this example, the note I am going to use is middle C (hex 3C) to toggle the bypass of the other module. # use middle C to toggle bypass # of another module IF M0 == 90 3C IF M2 > 0 SND CF 00 +I END ENDNow, hitting that note (middle C, channel 1 in this example - the number in red in the above) will toggle the module that you configured to be controlled by prog 0 channel 16 (green in above) on and off. Regards, Nic.
