Hello. I think there are only a few Bluetooth transmitters on the market - Yamaha BT01 and the Mi.1. I know that in MIDIFire they can be renamed within a scene, but is there any means for MIDIFire to distinguish them permanently in Setup? I have one BT01 and two Mi.1's, and I'd like to have a way for MIDIFire to automatically, permanently be able to distinguish between the two Mi.1's. Since I think those device names arrive through CoreMIDI I don't know if this is possible.
I've seen some iPad apps get very confused about which is which (Animoog was one) while other apps were able to keep them straight. But If I can rename one or both of them from the get-go, perhaps this would become easier?

Hi tap , I'm pretty sure that the identifier presented by CoreMIDI from Bluetooth hardware is immutable. Remote iDevices connected via Bluetooth can be assigned a custom name though. In MidiFire's case (or any app using my MidiBus library) it will number them to distinguish them in the order they are connected. The only sure fire way is to power them up and connect one at a time so that they get numbered the same way each time. Regards, Nic.

OK - that makes sense. Thank you as usual for your timely wisdom. :-)
