I'm not a MIDI Bridge owner but am very curious to find out if it can provide a solution for me......
I want to be able to play 3 note chords using a simple MIDI keyboard when I play live, but by only pressing a single note.
e.g.when I press note B1, it will play B1, D2 and F#2 (i.e. a B minor chord). So basically mapping a single input note to multiple output notes.
My signal chain is MIDI keys > iRig MIDI > iPhone 4S (synth app).
Is this something that MIDI Bridge can do? How would I be able to implement it? Can notes be mapped like this somehow?
My long term vision (because I am a guitarist) is to be able to play these chords using a single MIDI footswitch programmed for each different chord I need.
I'm really hoping that MIDI Bridge can help me out!

Hi,
MidiBridge can do this, but only with the Stream Byter and would have to be programmed manually (but only once).
Essentially you would write rules like:
# play Bm chord for B1 NX 2F = XX 32 +C # clone B1 to D2 NX 2F = XX 36 +C # clone B1 to F#2
You would need to create rules for each note you wanted to trigger a triad with.
You would also be able to trigger these chords via your footswitch too.
Regards, Nic.

Awesome, this is exactly what I'm looking for!! I don't mind a bit of programming (I'm sure you can guide me with syntax etc!).
What options do I have in terms of saving different rules? I am just thinking of when I want to change the rule potentially for different songs (so in song one, B1 would trigger the triad as suggested, but in my next song, it might trigger a different set of notes).
Can I set things up in such a way that I can switch between songs somehow?

You can save each of your Stream Byter rulesets in a preset so they can be recalled when needed and each entire MidiBridge configuration can be saved to a scene (presets and all) so you can recall any scene via MidiBridge itself or from an external controller via MIDI message.
Always happy to help with Stream Byter syntax!

Thanks Nic. I have purchased and am getting stuck into it! Is there a cheat sheet of sorts for mapping MIDI notes to their equivalent syntax?
Reason I'm asking is because I've realised that I want my chord to be on B2 not B1, but I don't know what the values are for B2, D3 and F#3.

By co-incidence I just posted a link to a note/hex table on this thread

Great thanks. Another question sorry, on a completely different topic. On the iPhone I've started writing my Stream Byter code, but after a while I can't see what I'm typing because the screen does not seem to move down with the cursor and the cursor and text get hidden behind the on-screen keyboard. It therefore stops me writing more than about 7 or 8 lines before I can't see what I'm doing. Is this an issue with the app?

Yes, sorry, it is because the keyboard overlaps the text widget and not enough scroll leeway. This should be improved in the next update.
What I usually do is construct the rules in the editor of my choice and then copy/paste them in.
Often I will construct/edit on a computer and save into a file in my dropbox folder and copy/paste from there.
This is the first iteration of the Stream Byter. It was really a way of being able to extend MidiBridge's functionality remotely, so a little bit user unfriendly. Turns out to be much more popular than I thought it would be.
Regards, Nic.

Ok great. Just to let you know if you didn't already, another thing that happens is that keyboard doesn't disappear unless you press "Install Rules", but if you press 'Done', then it takes you back to the modules page and the main page and the keyboard is still up obscuring things.
I'll use the Dropbox suggestion for now!

Yep, I do know about that one too, but thanks for pointing it out.
