I'm having an issue with getting MIDI out to my desktop DAW (Ableton Live) for most my iOS instruments.
So far I've only found Moog Animoog that can do it (that was with the purchase of the MIDI expansion pack)
Can MidiBridge help me get MIDI out to my DAW from any other iOS instruments?

Hi Barry,
I'm afraid I need to answer your question with a few questions first so I can give you a sensible response.
When you say 'get note data out' do you mean like an export/import or do you mean you want the iOS apps to send MIDI data to Ableton in real time?
Which apps do you use that you want to drive Ableton with?
Do you have a MIDI Interface for your iOS device? If so, which one? Or do you want to connect to your desktop via wifi?
I'll say that generally MIDI out must be provided by the app in question. In some cases MidiBridge can be used to augment shortcomings in an app's MIDI implementation, but most apps that output MIDI data do it reasonably well.
Regards, Nic.

Hi Nic,
I mean transmit live MIDI data out from iOS apps, not export.
The instrument apps that currently can't do this that i'm trying to find a workaround for that I use are:
Arturia iSEM Waldorf Nave Korg Polysix Propellerheads Thor Camel Audio Alchemy (free version)
They all have MIDI in, and some even have MIDI learn which is very handy, but none have MIDI out meaning nothing I touch on the app can be sent to my desktop DAW (bar audio of course, but I want MIDI).
So far the only instrument apps I've found that have MIDI out are Animoog and Magellan, both of which work exactly as I want, so it's clearly a limitation of the other apps, but I'm hoping for a workaround, seeing as I know they can communicate to each other via AudioBus.
I do have a MIDI interface (Alesis iO Dock), but connecting via wifi is also an option.
I look forward to hearing of the solutions MidiBridge can possibly provide.
Thanks

Hi Barry,
Thanks for the response. I now understand your request a lot better.
Unfortunately I don't have good news for you. If the app doesn't provide any MIDI output at all then I'm afraid MidiBridge is not going to be able to help resolve that.
I guess the designers of these apps see their role as generating sound via MIDI control and not as MIDI controllers.
The AudioBus connectivity is limited to just audio streams so that avenue isn't going to be very fruitful.
One option is to use a controller app as your 'control central' to drive the generator apps and have that app send to the apps in question as well as out to the DAW (via the Alesis or wifi) simultaneously. I guess an app like Midi Control may do the job and you would set it up to control the sound app parameters via MIDI learn. You could then record your controller performances into the DAW and on playback from the DAW the sound apps will play the note and controller events.
Regards, Nic.

OK thanks Nic,
I'll investigate that workaround.
