Hello,
I bought this app, in the hope I could trigger scene's in Luminair with an audio app (within the same IPad). It seems Luminair isn't listed in the compatible app's. It would be great this app could intigrated in the future. Or, maybe someone could help me todo this on an other way ?
thanks.
Frank.

Hi Frank,
The 'compatible apps' panel is just apps that are compatible with fast-switching and is not based on MIDI capability, so don't worry about Luminair not appearing there.
I have looked at the Luminair app store description and it doesn't seem to support virtual MIDI, but it *does* support CoreMIDI network, so you may be able use a trick with MidiBridge to control it from other apps on the iPad.
Here is what you would do.
- Go to MidiBridge's Preferences pane and on the CoreMIDI Net page enter the word 'localhost' (no quotes) in the host field and then press connect. You have now looped the network session back to CoreMIDI networking internally. You should see the number '2' as a badge on the Interfaces tab button if the loopback is running.
- Now, in the app that you want to trigger Luminair's scene changes with, send the events to the network port. You don't mention what the controlling app is going to be, so if it does not support CoreMIDI net, you may need to do extra steps. Get back to me if this is the case.
Note, that if you are using Luminair to control stuff remotely via CoreMIDI Networking then you'll need to be a little careful with the routing in that MIDI events from Luminair will also be sent via the CoreMIDI network session and back to itself. Hopefully Luminair will ignore these. If the equipment you are controlling from Luminair is connected via cable then this should not be an issue.
I don't have Luminair or any DMX equipment so I am just guessing based upon what I know and have no way of testing out my theory for you, but I think it may work. Please let us know how you get on.
Regards, Nic.
