Yikes!
OK, let me first confirm my understanding of your setup. The FTP is plugged into the USB port of the EIE which is plugged into the iPad. The Octatrack, Analog four and Bass Station are connected via MIDI DIN cables to the EIE MIDI out. Thus MidiBridge will show ports for the EIE (and thus the 3 connected DIN devices) *and* the FTP. I assume that you will connect the FCB or KMI via DIN MIDI in of the EIE also? Do you have a MIDI hub for all these devices or are you daisy chaining MIDI thru? I am guessing you might also have apps running on EIE iPad that you control with the FTP also?
Let's figure out the connections first and we will use the Stream Byter to remap whichever channels you want and the Scenes feature to switch between remap configurations from the FCB/KMI.
First rule, is that you want to make sure that all apps and devices receive their events from MidiBridge and not the FTP directly. For the devices, you make a connection from FTP (left) to EIE (right). For apps, make sure that each app is listening to its own virtual input (or MidiBridge's virtual output) and *not* the FTP directly.
As an example, let's setup the Stream Byter to remap channels 1-6 (covers both FTP modes) to channel 7.
Touch the beaker icon on FTP (left) and accessory arrow for Stream Byter. Press 'On' and paste this into the text box:
# remap ch1-6 to 7
X0-5 = X6Press 'Install Rules' and Done & Done.
Now anything on the FTP will get mapped to channel 7 which is being fed to apps/devices.
Save this in Scene 0 and call it something like 'FTP Channel 7'.
So now go back into the FTP (left) Stream Byter and change X6 to X7, press 'Install Rules', Done & Done.
Save this into Scene 1 and call it something like 'FTP Channel 8'
We have two scenes that remap the FTP to channel 7 or channel 8 depending upon which scene is selected.
To switch between those scenes with either the FCB or KMI, program one footswitch to send program change 0 and another footswitch to send program change 1. If possible I suggest you use MIDI channel 16 for your program changes so adjust the MIDI channel of the foot controller and also in MidiBridge Preferences/Options change Scene Channel to 16.
If all has gone well, then pressing switch 1 on the footswitch will switch the scene 1 meaning FTP remapped to channel 8 and pressing switch 0 will switch to scene 0 and MIDI channel 7.
That's the basics of what I suggest you can do. Obviously I just made up that scenario but I hope you get the idea. If you need some specific rules for remapping and need help with the Stream Byter rules, just post away. Information on programming the Stream Byter is
hereAlso, if the FCB/KMI won't send program change messages on channel 16 let me know what they can be programmed to send as we can run a Stream Byter on the EIE input to convert those to the requisite messages to switch scenes.
My suggestion is to start off simply develop your understanding and then build up your setup bit by bit.
Finally, transferring settings. You should be able to use iFunBox to suck out all the files in the MidiBridge Documents directory from one device and copy/replace into a different device. MidiBridge is universal, so the files should work from one device to another. Do make sure you copy every file. It might be possible in theory just to copy some files but I wouldn't risk it.
