Hello!
This looks like a great app for iPad.
I have been trying to use my Korg MicroSAMPLER as a monophonic playback sampler, just as I do with my MPC.
The MicroSAMPLER is always polyphonic with no option for a MONO mode.
I have my MicroSAMPLER connected to the MIDI IN & OUT of my Alesis IO Dock. I also own MIDI Mobilizer II and the iRig.
I would like to use MIDIBridge to do the following:
When I press a key, it will sustain that key and send a NOTE OFF command to all other keys (or just a selection of keys)
(( format: [MicroSAMPLER event] = MIDIBridge event ))
[press C4] = send Note ON command to C4 then [press D4] = Send Note ON command to D4, send Note OFF command to all other keys.
I have tried a few different iOS apps to do this, and have had no luck.
Will I easily be able to do this with MIDIBridge?
Thanks for your time!

Hi cubilas,
I'm not 100% sure, but I think this can be achieved with MidiBridge and the Stream Byter, but my recipe relies on the synth that is being controlled honouring the 'all notes off' message. This is because currently the Stream Byter has no intelligence for knowing which notes are currently held down.
The following ruleset can be installed in the Stream Byter on whichever port suits
# mono mode/simple 9X = BX 7B 00 +C # all notes off NX = XX +C # clone note on/off
I tried out the above with bs-16 and although it does do what it says, I wonder if this is really what you want. It isn't like the traditional mono mode where if you are holding down two keys and you release one, then the remaining held note starts sounding.
Also I originally tried to set it up so that once you pressed (and released) a note it stayed on until the next note was pressed which is how I ready your specification. The problem was the last note would never release, but maybe this is what you want. If so the rules would instead be:
# mono mode/sustained 9X = BX 7B 00 +C # all notes off 9X = XX +C # clone note on 8X = XX +B # block note off
So, to summarise, MidiBridge will come close to giving you what you are after, but I'm not convinced it is going to do exactly what you want.
Regards, Nic.
