So, I'm using Addictive Synth and Magellan via audiobus and into MIDIbridge.
I've tried sending patch changes through to the synths, but it's not working. I've seeked advice from other sources so far and it appears not all iOS synths will work in this way.
Is there a way around this?
Cheers

As far as I can tell neither Magellan or Addictive react to program change messages. Unless they have some other method for switching patches via MIDI, these apps are never going to play nice.

Thanks for that info, it's appreciated.
How does one know about these little pitfalls before purchasing the apps? It must be a case of finding a lite version of the app you want to download...

Many developers publish their manuals or detail what MIDI commands their apps will respond to. If not, and if there is no 'lite' version to test out then email the developer and ask them. Essentially you want to know whether the app responds to MIDI program change events and whether a program change will switch patches in the app.
Regards, Nic.
