Hi,
I'm keyboard player that extremely newbie to keyboard controller. Comparing to common keyboard, IMO, using keyboard controller it means different workflow, different user interface, different logic, and different ease of use.
My first try with iphone as sound module (SAMPLETANK), i found that there is no way to split my keyboard, so i searched along the internet, and i found midibridge.
It was a big relieve that midibridge can easily split keyboard into 2 splits, with setting : assign instrument A on channel 2 and instrument B on channel 3.
At least, my desicion to choose different system to my way of playing music is not wrong.
But, then I found another pullback.
I just realize that sustain pedal only listened to the channel 1 midi. Within my setting above, it turns out that sustain pedal won't control instrument A and instrument B (because of assignation channel 2 & 3)
Again, i search along the internet. My finding lead to (again) midibridge. It seems midibridge through streambyter have the ability to tweak midi more than I can imagine (because lack of my knowledge about midi).
Here's my problem, I've read "guide to stream byter" but still, I don't understand "MIDI event", "clone & block message", "remap note", "collapse note", etc
I'm musician not a script writer. All I want to do is playing my keyboard. I realize that "with flexibilty comes some complexity" but that's too much for me.
I don't how to take my first step to learn deeply into midibridge.
Please give me enlightment, and hope that my choice of using controller and iphone as sound module is not wrong.
My 1st goal is only have the understanding how to use midibridge or -specifically- stream byter as I need.
Here short story about my keyboard setting. On common keyboard, I use some split and layer to different instrument. Ex:
1. Instrument A with -2 octave on C1-F#2
2. Instrument B with 0 octave on C1-F#2
3. Instrument C with 0 octave on G2-B4 except on F#3 and G#3
4. Instrument D with +1 octave and transpose -1 only on F#3 and G#3
Thats it, as my goal,
1. I need to turn on all or selected midi channel to listen my sustain pedal, and
2. Translate my keyboard setting to midibridge or streambyter command
Please guide my first step further using midibridge. Thank you
