Hi guys,
I am trying to connect a wireless Bluetooth midi controller to my sequencing software on iPad. The midibridge software is no doubt capable, but I'm a bit baffled as how to map it correctly.
The ipad is docked on a Focusrite itrack dock, which has a USB port on the back for the Guitar Wing's USB receiver.
I can't find any settings in Novation that allow me to connect the guitar wing, but it will successfully connect with a launchpad or launch keys.
I know I will be able to get the results I need with Ableton if need be but my heart is set on using my ipad for the portability and great apps.
Any help is much appreciated!
Thanks,
Nick

Hi Nick,
I figure you want to drive the Novation Launchpad App from the Guitar-Wing. I have a feeling that the Launchpad App is 'knobbled' to only accept events from a launchpad hardware device. I think someone on the board here tried to see if it was possible to fool the LaunchPad app to accept events from other MIDI devices by creating a simple 'thru' app that presented itself as the same details as the hardware but I don't think they were successful.
Just as an aside, The iTrack Dock can be a bit fussy when it comes to the USB MIDI devices that it will correctly support when plugged into the iTrack's USB port. I don't have a Livid unit, but if it does work, then the MIDI events from the Livid will be sent to the iPad via the iTrack Dock's own virtual MIDI port (can't remember if it is iTrackDock1 or iTrackDock2). With MidiBridge running, connect up the Livid unit via the iTrack dock and 'do stuff' on the remote unit and observe which ports on the left in MidiBridge flash. If nothing flashes, then the iTrack is probably not happy to work with the Livid. Obviously if the iTrack+Livid don't like each other then nothing is going to work anyways.
Regards, Nic.
