Hi all,
I'm working with beatmaker 2 and trying to remap the default midi notes on launchpad mini.
My plan is to have 8 octaves consisting only of 8 main notes (C D E F G A B C) on each row, so the map will be looking like this:
C7 D7 E7 F7 G7 A7 B7 C8
C6 D6 E6 F6 G6 A6 B6 C7
C5 D5 E5 F5 G5 A5 B5 C6
C4 D4 E4 F4 G4 A4 B4 C5
C3 D3 E3 F3 G3 A3 B3 C4
C2 D2 E2 F2 G2 A2 B2 C3
C1 D1 E1 F1 G1 A1 B1 C2
C0 D0 E0 F0 G0 A0 B0 C1
According to this diagram (http://cdn.instructables.com/FWX/NBXG/H4AFZWE7/FWXNBXGH4AFZWE7.MEDIUM.jpg) I'm looking at midi notes (in decimal) from 12 (C0) to 108 (C8)
How to do this in MidiBridge? Is it possible with remapping module?

Hi zork, You can just use the 'Note Mapper' module for this. You do need to know which note numbers (0 to 127) the launchpad generates for each button and which note numbers you want each mapped to. Armed with this information: Touch the 'beaker icon' on the LaunchPad input (on left) and press the disclosure info button of the Note Mapper. Press 'On' to enable. Now you can enter in your mappings by changing the 'Incoming' value to each of the launchpad notes in turn and each time you select an incoming note then change the corresponding Outgoing value. You will see the graphic below start to change as notes get remapped. Regards, Nic.

Hi zork, They appear to be counting from C-2 so C0 is 24, but the Note Mapper also shows the note name starting from C-2 which maps exactly to the first link you pasted so you may find it easier to work from note names instead. Regards, Nic.

hmm, I got a problem with the mapping. I chose the input on the left as launchpad, then connected it to the output on right (beatmaker) and then configured note mapping on the input -- i moved c4 (72) to c0 (24) but it seems when i test it in keyboard sampler now two pads are lit! c4 and c0
How to remap it correctly so when i press c4 i will have only c4 pad lighted but the sound will be from c0....

Hi zork, BeatMaker is listening to both MidiBridge and the Launchpad directly. In BM2 in the MIDI settings, disable Launchpad as an input and this should resolve that. Regards, Nic.

ok, when I disable Launchpad in BM2 midi settings (input) yes it works -- I got the right remapped sound, but still wrong pad is lighted... this starts to be really confusing. I guess BM2 is sending wrong message back to Launchpad now. What I need to configure so that the right pad will be lighted up? In my BM2 midi settings I got Launchpad configured as output, if I disable it no pads are lighted... Edit: I figured it out... You need to connect output of BM2 to midibridge and map it in reverse... Beautiful! One more question though -- do you know how this guy mapped his 64 grid? Which notes he got on each row? www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQm3xbTxJRc

Hi zork, An alternative to the reverse mapping for the lights is just to connect launchpad in and out ports in MidiBridge. I'm not smart enough to be able to figure out those mappings by ear. He mentions fourths so maybe that is a clue to his mapping matrix. You could ask him via youtube comments? Regards, Nic.

An alternative to the reverse mapping for the lights is just to connect launchpad in and out ports in MidiBridge. Can you elaborate on that? Right now in I got: MidiBridge INPUT OUTPUT Launchpad Mini --------- BeatMaker 2 MidiBridge ---------------- Launchpad Mini BM2 INPUT OUTPUT MidiBridge on MidiBridge on

Hi zork, Well, if you got it working already maybe best not to mess with it! However, this is what I would recommend MidiBridgeINPUT OUTPUT
Launchpad Mini +-------- MidiBridge <- only remap on this port | +-------- Launchpad MiniBM2 INPUT OUTPUT MidiBridge on MidiBridge off <- don't need this You will need to move your forward mappings to the MidiBridge output (save as preset and recall)
Regards, Nic.
