GarageBand does not appear in the routing options within MidiBridge and it appears to be permanently set to omni in. An app like iGrand will receive directly (Regardless of MidiBridge) on the channel its set to, or all channels if set to omni. iGrand appears in MidiBridge as a routing destination and can be configured to receive a stream it would otherwise ignore. Can't seem to do this with GarageBand. In effect it is always on and as such always receives coreMidi messages regardless of MidiBridge. How can this behaviour be changed. i.e. Manage the midi stream to GarageBand via MidiBridge.

Unfortunately GarageBand listens to all channels on all CoreMIDI inputs and there is no way to turn this off. The only way around this that I know of is to use a Line6 Midi Mobilizer 1 (original) as to GarageBand this is invisible, but MidiBridge recognises it and you can send events from it to MidiBridge's output for GB to pick up. GB has been like this for quite a while, but maybe Apple will update it with improved MIDI functionality. Until then the Line6 unit (cheap as chips via ebay) is the only solution.
Regards, Nic.

Thanks Nic. There is a second problem with GarageBand's Midi implementation. It is by no means complete! I foolishly assumed that because you can use the hold pedal (40h) to switch the Leslie, it must be possible to adjust the drawbars (in an assignment similar to the Electro 3)... But No! Neither is there any concept of user presets, midi selectable or not! It's a real shame and I'm not sure quite what Apple's reasons are for not providing a more comprehensive interface. Really it demotes GarageBand to toy status, which is at odds with the general direction music making on iOS / iPad is heading. And they don't provide an alternative on the platform.. So GarageBand has to drop out of my plans. Which is a shame because the as far as I can tell the, B3 simulation is head and shoulders above anything else currently on iOS. Believe me I've tried them! I was willing to sacrifice my Nord's position in the rig for it too!
