The old chestnut
If I connect music studio app to midifire and press the play button in the dynamic tempo module this will toggle play (from start) and stop in music studio
The manual to the Alexis io dock tells me that
f you are using a single-button footswitch, pressing the footswitch for the first time sends a data value of 127 for CC #14 over Channel 1. Pressing the footswitch for the second time sends a data value of 0 for CC #14 over Channel 1.
How can I tell MidiFire that if it receives a data value of 127 etc it should press the play button on the dynamic tempo module and again if it receives 0?
or any other clever way of sending midi beat clock start/stop messages in response to the iodock messages.

Hi bianca , I think you can use MidiFire's Remote Control stuff for this out of the box if that is the case: - Press 'Setup' then 'Remote Control' - Select 'Dynamic Clock - Start/Stop' (or could be 'Dynamic Clock - Bypass) in the list (make sure the is a Dynamic Clock on the canvas) - Press 'Learn' at bottom - Press the physical switch connected to Alesis - you should see it set the event - Press 'Learn' to disengage learning I think the transport will now toggle between start/stop as you press the button successively. If not, then we can probably add some Stream Byter code to make it behave properly. Regards, Nic.

Thanks for the reply
Shame we will never know if it would have worked. Some iOS update has broken the ability to work my iodock via the 30 pin to lightning adapter and MidiFire won’t work on any device that has a 30pin connection.
The joys of Apple I guess.

Why won't midifire work on a 30 pin device? What happens? I run it on an iPod touch 4g running iOS 6 without problems.

Maybe I pressed the wrong button or something but I’m sure I got a message pop up to tell me it needed ios10. Will have another go, fingers crossed.

Hi I have the alesis io dock with 30 to lightning adapter. I am updated to IOS 11 and this works beautifully. From time to time i recieve a message it’s incompatible but just undock it and dock it again. After one or two tries it will work.
