Hi there,
I'm wondering if MIDIBridge can make the following scenario possible. I have an Akai Synthstation 25. I was thinking it would be pretty handy if this could become a wireless controller for CoreMIDI apps that are running on an iPad. Would MIDIBridge make this possible?
As a follow on question, it doesn't seem like an iOS device can create an ad hoc network, only join them, so I would assume some third non-iOS device would be needed to be the wi-fi provider. Unless this communication could happen over Bluetooth.
Anyway, just wanted to check.
thanks!

Hi Joe,
Yes, is the answer to the first question.
You will need a wifi access point for both iDevices to connect to or a jailbroken iDevice (just one of them) running something like MyWi to setup an ad-hoc network without an access point.
Regards, Nic.

Hi Nic,
Thanks for the quick response. This is great! Any chance iDevice to iDevice MIDI over BT may be a future possibility? Or is that something that something that isn't even possible in iOS?

Hi Joe,
It is possible and there are some people looking at this and creating some sort of usable standard, so something may happen in the not too distant future! ;-)
Regards, Nic.
