Hello Nic,
I'd like to get values of AUv3 synths configured in AUM (resonance, Q etc...) to be "catch" into StreamByter, then send to a midi output. Purpose of this is to "echo" these values to a midi controller, so I could understand/read the values of a preset while he's loaded. I think that's called bi-directional midi reading.
Can StreamByter could get / ask for these defined variables ?
To launch the script, I was thinking of a simple cc that could launch the "reading values process". If a synth can respond to program change, I'm not sure he's "echoing" this command while you change into the app your presets anyway.
As far as I understand, for AUv3 synths, the values needs to be set in AUM / assigned to a midi controller. (but I'm not sure of this as AUv3 versions of some synth still respond to their original values defined in their midi implementation...For example, Troublemaker responds to CC 7 = volume, in IAA or AUv3...) For IAA synth, I guess you'll need to configure properly your midi learn mapping.
If yes, could you provide some example code, like get a list of cc values, then echoing them to the "next" midi selected output, while an other cc is pressed. Thanks for your clarifications...

Hi crony, I'm afraid an AU plugin cannot capture AU parameters of other AU instances. Only the host has access to the AU parameters, in this case AUM. It is up to the host to add a feature for mapping CC's to AU parameters. Generally, this tends to be CC-> AU parameter and not both ways. Regards, Nic.

Hmm...Well...And can StreamByter can get these values from IAA synths ? I have this need for DRC for instance (or any IAA synths where I've defined CC's) . I have set my midi learn / CC's.

Hi crony , I don't think IAA even lets a synth expose its parameters. You would be best asking Jonatan (AUM) or Alessandro (apeMatrix) about this. I fear that this sort of feature would be quite a bit of work to implement and not enough customers who would want it, but that's just me. Regards, Nic.

Thanks Nic, I'm afraid you're right...That's why I thought there might be a workaround with StreamByter... Only option I can see now is to set a PC with Modstep + sending corresponding CC's by hand to the controller of the patch. Maybe a Mididesigner pro template that could trap some infos, then sending them back to the controllers. Just remember this post here, I'm going to try to dig a bit more in that direction... forum.audiob.us/discussion/27470/novation-circuit-macro-editor-one-big-page#latest
