I'm trying to find a midi utility that would allow me to change a midi in setting of omni to an actual channel number. I'm using the iOS version of midi guitar by Jam Origin however there is no option of changing the MIDI In channel from omni to an actual channel number. So when I send PC messages intended for other apps midi guitar is also changing presets which I don't want. Would midifire help fix this issue?
I ended up purchasing midifire tonight and so far I'm unable to get this to work.
Any idea how I would go about setting this up?
To recap - I am using both Jam Origin's Midi Guitar and Quantiloop on iOS. My midi controller is a Line 6 HX Effects. Quantiloop allows me to configure a specific midi channel. So PC messages sent to Quantiloops channel work as expected. The problem is that Midi Guitar is also changing presets because it is set to "omni" and there is no way to change this from within the software. Ugh! I still want to send PC messages to midi guitar... But only at certain times. So really I need midi guitar to listen to a specific channel only and not change every time a PC message is sent intended for other apps. So having said that, any idea how I would go about setting up midifire to solve this problem?
Yes you click + at left cornered add input Jam origin and add channel strip and connect origin to channel strip, then at channel strip setting choose REMAP out to 1 channel for example and click again + and add output midifire. Then at you favourite synth chose midifire input
