Hi all, On my Ipad/ios device, I receive some midi messages from au pedal board, that don,t see on the Ipad SreamByter App. (why) When I switch on/off a switch on my pedalboard, I can see this message (control commands) with " MIDI scope" ios app I.E : (When switch ON) ch:1 Source2 176 80 127![]() General Purpose 5 [cc#80 value:127] B0 50 7FWhen Switch OFF : ch:1 Source2 176 80 0 General Purpose 5 [cc#80 value:0] B0 50 00
I think they are exclusive messages, but why not readable on Sreambyter ? My purpose, when receiving this midi datas from mypedal is to convert this message to a midi Start and stop signal to an app as Cubasis, or Drum session orother Ios midi app. Any solution appreciated. Thanks for advices

hey, this has happened here before as well with streambyter (in my case partially) not seeing SysEx messages. where are you hosting SB in ? Could you post a screenshot of MIDI scope?

Hi, Those are ordinary MIDI CC (control) messages, not System Exclusive. How are you running StreamByter? It can run stand-alone, but I don't believe it receives Core MIDI in that mode. It normally runs as an Audio Unit plug-in (AUv3) in a host app. Then you can route MIDI to and from it. Typical hosts are Audiobus, AUM, and most DAWs like Cubasis 3. Alternatively, you can use MidiFire, which is a comprehensive MIDI routing tool with StreamByter built in. Any of these hosts will do what you want, though sending Start/Stop to Cubasis from inside Cubasis would be problematic (though possible).
Incidentally, a specific app may or may not respond to external start and stop commands via MIDI. Some may sync via Ableton Link, but they may require that they be the Link master. This is a messy area.

Thanks for reply,
I am running on IPad or Ios and my pedal board is connected via midi cable (Lightning/USB and CME USB/Midi)
I have tried with sucess to send a "Panic" message to the "Drum Session" IOS App from SreamByter : That hilight that Streambyter is communicating with.
But no way to get the CC message as an input of Streambyter

Exactly. I do not know of any way for stand-alone StreamByter to receive Core MIDI messages. It does not include the ability to connect to other MIDI ports, though it does create its own StreamByter Virtual MIDI port. You really need to use a host to do the MIDI routing.
Edit: Just checked tha AppStore description and it says exactly this. Either use AUv3 or the Virtual MIDI port in stand-alone. Other apps are required to route Core MIDI to the virtual port.

There are other apps that can perform simple transformations on MIDI messages, like FreEWI, but I'm not familiar with their capabilities. As I already mentioned, you may have more trouble with start/stop, either via FA/FC or using MIDI Machine Control (MMC).
